aims:amputation is the most common motor disabilities. physical, behavioral and mental disorders after that are the most serious problems of amputee veterans. method: this was a cross-sectional study. we assessed themental health of iranian amputees veterans living on the southern coast of the caspian sea. in this study, evaluated mental health status of participant with self-administered demographic questionnaire and scl-90-r questionnaire. results: from the 575 participants, 256 (44.52%) the range of age was 20-70 years and mean age was 46.44±2.6. 65.5% completed the questionnaire. all of them were men, 94.9% (n=1864) were married and 78.8% had graduate diploma and under diploma. 69.1% of participants had gsi index more than 0.7% and thus as a possible psychopath, 16.4% between 0.4% to 0.7% and suspected possible psychopath and the end, in 14.5% less than 0.4 and therefore were considered as potential healthy. conclusion: it seems that the majority of veterans have not acceptable counseling psychology, which has been reduces their mental health.
